Variables
You can convert specific text, images, avatars, or dates to variables to reuse them in your templates.
Walnut has four types of variables:
- Text: The text can be part (or all of a text element or text in a guide). You can add as many text variables as you want. These variables can be personalized from Salesforce, a URL, or a lead form.
- Date: Converts a static date to one that is dynamic based on your chosen time period.
- Image: Swaps out one image for another across the template.
- Avatar: Swaps out one avatar for another (but doesn’t use the Variables menu).

Edit in bulk
With Global Edits, you can apply the same edits across multiple screens in bulk to save time.
Use the Global Edits feature when you want to change:
- Navigations
- Text settings
- Images
- Links to an external screen
- Variables
- Interactions
Walnut will automatically detect and suggest repeated edits to save you time and effort. This will also be applied to newly added screens, enhancing efficiency and consistency.

Find & replace
Easily make bulk changes across your templates screens by using the Find & Replace feature.
With Find & Replace, you can quickly replace:
- Text elements on the screen
- Text variables
- Text in guides
Manage editing permissions
Restricting edits to a template is of course possible when you don’t want any collaborators making changes. The template will still be shared with them, but if they try to edit it, they won’t be able to. Once this is on, only you, the template creator will be able to make any changes to the content on the screens. This would be ideal if you want to stagger any changes or have your portion reviewed before any others.
