Manage roles & permissions

About

Role-based access control is a cornerstone of effective security and governance. When you assign team members a role, you increase visibility and sharing whilst maintaining control of which aspects of your work they can view, share and edit. 


Walnut’s four roles

Here’s a list of typical job titles for each role.

  • Admin: Leadership roles in Sales Enablement, Product Marketing, Business Development.
  • Editor: Solution Engineers, Account Executives, or Customer Success Managers.
  • Presenter: Business Development, Demand Marketing specialists, Onboarding Coordinators.
  • Viewer: C-Suite executives, Event Marketing specialists or others who share demos on webinars, live recordings, or client meetings.

When you assign permission, here is a list of who can do what.

Assign or change roles

Admins can assign or change roles for people in your organization.

> To assign roles:

  1. Navigate to Company Settings>Users.
  2. Select the user, click the Role dropdown and select the role you want this user.

Remove users

Admins can remove / archive users. If the user has templates or demos, they will be reassigned to your account.

> To remove / archive a user:

  1. Navigate to Account Settings>Users.
  2. Click the X in the far right column. A warning message appears.

  1. If you are sure you want to remove the user, click Transfer & Archive.

Share templates, demos or demo playlists

To share templates, demos or demo playlist, you’ll use the Collaborators feature. To see how to do this, head over to the article Create demos part 1: create & share templates.


Assign members to groups

You can also assign members to one or more groups. When you have several people in a group, you can view shared progress. To learn more, head over to the Groups section in the article Company settings.
