Integrating with HubSpot allows you to seamlessly incorporate demo engagement data into your workflow, enriching your sales process with actionable insights. This integration helps your team follow up with precise information about prospect intent and manage deals more effectively by centralizing all demo-related data.
With the HubSpot Integration, you can:
- Embed lead forms and capture demo engagement data with newly created leads (read more here).
- Directly integrate demo engagement data into HubSpot deals (read more here).
Please note: To set up this integration, you will need to be a HubSpot user with read permissions for companies, contacts and deals, as well as write permissions for contacts.
Integrating HubSpot
Begin by logging into your HubSpot Account. Then enter the tab in Walnut and press learn more next to HubSpot.
In the pop-up window click .
Click New authentication to begin connecting your account.
Give your authentication a name and press Create.
Note that providing an API Key is not mandatory. You are not required to add any API key in order to proceed with the integration.
Once you click create, a pop-up browser will appear indicating that Walnut and HubSpot are being connected. Simply choose which account you'd like to use.
- Note: The deals you’ll be able to see depend on the HubSpot user used for the authentication. Any deal available for this user will also become available for you in Walnut.
- If you have access to a HubSpot Sandbox environment, you can authenticate that account as well. Walnut does not provide a Sandbox account for testing purposes.
-
If you are not logged into HubSpot at this stage, you will receive the following message in the pop-up browser:
Once you have confirmed the account, you will be redirected into Walnut and see that the account has been successfully connected. Click finish to complete the process.
Once the requested permission to integrate is approved, the integration setup is complete and should see the configure button appear next to HubSpot.
Within HubSpot, you will need to ensure that Walnut notifications are selected in the activity filters.
You can enable or disable the integration at any time after the setup has been completed. Simply use the toggle to turn the integration on and off.
Once you’ve enabled the integration, it will be available for all Walnut users in your organization. Any user that creates a demo will be able to connect it to a specific lead or in HubSpot, and thus get updates directly each time their demo is viewed.
Important To Note 📝
- Only Walnut Admins can enable and edit the HubSpot integration. Ensure that your admins have read and write permissions within HubSpot.
- Creating a new deal must be done exclusively through HubSpot and not via Walnut.
- Walnut will make API calls to HubSpot in the following three instances. We will notify you if the API access is disabled.
- When a deal search is performed during demo creation {{Calls made: Search deal}}
- When a deal is selected during demo creation {{Calls made: Get HubSpot owner, Get deal stage, Get deal associations, Get company}}
- Each time a demo connected to a deal is viewed {{Calls made: Create task, Associate task with deal}}
- Deal ID, Deal name, Deal stage, Deal owner, Inserted at, and Updated at are the only data points processed and displayed by Walnut.
Walnut uses a 3rd-party to enable the integration with HubSpot. Walnut may change and add new tools in the future. Contact support@walnut.io for more information.
