July was our biggest release month yet, with a wave of AI-powered editing, richer buyer experiences, and more control over how you organize and share your work.

This month brings a sharper AI Mode that opens by default, one-click video exports, Dark Mode across the whole app, in-app guide translations, and a set of upgrades that make demos feel more real for buyers and easier to manage for your team.

AI Mode: More Editing Powers, Open by Default​

AI Mode now opens by default in the demo template editor, and it can handle far more of the build.

Describe what you want and AI Mode does it, from restructuring a guide to restyling elements to pulling in account data.

What you can do:

  • Resize and restyle elements (width, height, padding, margins)
  • Flip a guide step between tooltip, hotspot, and modal
  • Show or move the guide button, and insert an image or element
  • Add end-of-guide confetti, or make a link restart the demo
  • Paste a screenshot or point at an element on the canvas and say what to change
  • Set up autoplay and pull information from your CRM, all from the same chat

The result: Build and edit demos faster by describing what you want, with the assistant ready the moment you open the editor.

Draft with AI: Sharper Inline Writing ⭐​

Draft with AI is the new inline writer for annotations and presenter notes, running on a much sharper model.

Draft new copy or refine what's there without leaving the canvas.

What you can do:

Write from a short prompt, or rewrite existing copy in place Set the tone (Friendly, Professional, or Concise) or type your own instruction Preview each suggestion and keep or discard it One company-wide AI approval, so if your company has approved AI, it just works

The result: Clear, on-brand annotations and notes in seconds.

Export Your Demo as a Video ⭐​

Turn any demo, or a single guide or flow, into a polished MP4 or GIF, with clicks, timing, guide steps, and transitions captured automatically.

What you can do:

  • Export a full demo or a single flow as an MP4 or GIF
  • Pick a transition speed from 0.5s to 3s, or set custom timing
  • Choose Standard, High, or Max quality, with annotations rendered fully before each step advances
  • Kick off an export in the background and get a download link by email and in-app

The result: Share your best demos anywhere video goes, no screen recording and no re-takes.

Dark Mode ⭐​

Walnut now has multiple modes across the whole app, so you can work comfortably in any lighting.

What you can do:

  • Choose Light, Dark, or System from your profile menu or Settings, Preferences
  • System follows your device automatically and switches with it
  • Every surface comes along: Content Library, editor, Demo Center, Insights and charts, settings, and player chrome
  • Your content keeps its real colors, so screen captures, deal rooms, playlists, and brand previews are never tinted

The result: A comfortable workspace day or night, with your content always true to itself.

Guide Translations: Edit Every Language In-App​

A new Review and edit table puts your source text side by side with every language, so you can localize guides right where you build.

What you can do:

  • Edit guide names, annotation text, and button labels for each language in one view
  • Change the source copy and affected translations are flagged as out of date
  • Fix a translated annotation directly on the canvas, with formatting preserved
  • Prefer bulk? CSV export lives alongside the in-app flow

The result: Ship localized guides faster, and buyers always get an up-to-date demo in their language.

Simulated Typing: Demos That Feel Real​

Text can now type out character by character during a demo, so form fills and searches look like a real person is using the product.

What you can do:

  • Turn on natural, character-by-character typing for form and search interactions
  • Personalize the typed text anytime, like a prospect's company name, without re-recording
  • Optionally auto-advance the guide once typing finishes

The result: More authentic demos that hold buyer attention, especially in self-guided and embedded experiences.

Guided Cues: Gliding Markers and Cursor Hotspot​

Guided demos get two touches that keep viewers oriented.

What's new:

  • An animated marker glides from step to step, within a screen and across screens
  • A new Cursor hotspot style joins Glow and Beacon, fully clickable and keyboard-accessible
  • Set both from the toolbar, and opt in per guide so existing demos are unchanged

The result: Viewers always know where to look, and your guidance feels smooth and polished.

Reposition the Guides Toolbar ⭐​

Choose where the Guides Toolbar sits during a demo so it stays clear of the product you are showing.

What you can do:

  • Set the toolbar position per demo in Create and Share, View settings
  • Works on desktop and mobile, and applies for all viewers

The result: Keep the focus on your product, not the interface.

Publish Control for Deal Rooms and Playlists​

With auto-save keeping your work safe, your in-progress edits now stay in a private draft until you choose to share them.

What you can do:

  • Edit freely in a private draft while viewers keep seeing the last published version
  • Hit Publish to push changes live, with an unpublished-changes indicator when your draft is ahead
  • Work from a redesigned toolbar with a status pill and a single Publish action that becomes Get link once you are in sync

The result: Buyers only ever see your polished, finished work.

Multi-Page Playlists and In-Hub Search​

Sales and customer hub Playlists (Advanced Playlists) now support multiple pages, and every multi-page hub can offer viewers a search box.

What you can do:

  • Add, rename, reorder, and hide pages on a Playlist, the same experience Deal Rooms already have
  • Give viewers an in-hub search box that finds any content item across all pages, with full keyboard support
  • Show a clean viewer top bar with the Playlist name, set to Hidden, Visible, or Visible with search
  • Ask AI Mode to split a Playlist into pages or turn on search

The result: Buyers find the demo built for them in seconds, even in a large hub.

Allow and Block Lists: Bulk Add​

Gate or block access at scale without adding entries one at a time.

What you can do:

  • Paste or upload emails and domains separated by commas, spaces, or new lines, or upload a CSV, all at once
  • Duplicates and existing entries are skipped and invalid rows flagged, and lists are searchable and filterable
  • Apply an upload to a single demo or merge it into the company-wide default, without overwriting existing entries

The result: Control exactly who can view your demos in seconds.

Content Library: Drag and Drop, Plus Full-Library Export ⭐​

Two upgrades keep a large library tidy and easy to audit.

What you can do:

  • Drag any storyline, demo, deal room, or media file into a folder, one at a time or as a multi-selection, in grid or list view, with instant undo and redo
  • Admins can export the entire company library, active and archived, to a single CSV with rich metadata (owner, dates, status, tags, collaborators)

The result: Organize your library in seconds and get a full picture for audits and reorg planning.

Per-User Analytics for Playlists and Deal Rooms ⭐​

See a teammate's full footprint in Settings, Users, not just their templates and demos.

What you can do:

  • View new Playlists and Deal Rooms tabs alongside Templates and Demos on each user's profile
  • See the same engagement data as the Demos tab: plays and views, last viewed, and an insights link
  • Read Playlists and Deal Rooms counts in the summary cards at the top

The result: Understand each teammate's real impact at a glance.
