Add a text section to a Choose‑Your‑Own‑Adventure playlist
Add a text section to a Choose‑Your‑Own‑Adventure playlist
About This Feature
In a Choose‑Your‑Own‑Adventure (CYOA) playlist, viewers land on a welcome screen and pick what to explore. Text sections let you add plain, on‑page copy to that welcome screen — an intro paragraph, a message from the account team, or a bit of context between galleries — without adding a demo, video, or other content item.

When to use a text section
- Introduce the playlist above the first content gallery.
- Break a long welcome page into visually separated groups.
- Address different audiences ("For technical evaluators…", "For business buyers…").
- Provide instructions or context before the viewer picks their path.
Add a text section
- Open a CYOA playlist in the editor.
- Click + Add section where you want the text to appear.
- Choose Text from the section menu.
- Enter your copy in the description field. Titles are intentionally hidden on the welcome page — the section renders description only — so put everything you want the viewer to read into the description.
- Save.
Drag the section handle to reorder text sections alongside the gallery sections above and below them.
Where text sections render
Text sections appear on the CYOA welcome screen only. They are not shown in the player's sidebar once the viewer picks an item — the sidebar lists selectable content items only. This keeps the sidebar as a navigation index while the welcome page carries the narrative.
Editing and removing
- Hover the section to reveal edit and delete controls.
- Editing works the same way in the CYOA editor as in any other section.
- Deleting a text section is instant — there is no confirmation, but it stays on the page until you save the playlist.
FAQs
Do text sections appear inside a demo? No. They live on the CYOA welcome page. Once a viewer picks a demo, they see only the demo player and the CYOA sidebar.
Can I style the text? Text sections support the same rich‑text formatting as other description fields — headings, bold, italics, links, and lists.
Do text sections work in a standard (non‑CYOA) playlist? No — text sections are a CYOA‑only building block. Standard playlists use pages and content sections instead.
