Seller Xpert — an AI co-pilot in your presenter window

Seller Xpert — an AI co-pilot in your presenter window

Overview

Seller Xpert is an AI co-pilot that lives inside the Presenter Notes window of a live demo. While you present, you can ask it about the screen you're on, the product or the deal, and it answers with talking points only you can see. It can also listen to the call and suggest answers in real time, and offer to switch the buyer's player to the right screen — even across demos — with one click.

Seller Xpert draws on the same workspace knowledge as Buyer Xpert, plus a seller-only Seller knowledge library (pricing guidance, battlecards, objection handling) that is never shown to buyers.

Snapshot

  • Where it lives: inside the Presenter Notes window, which opens in its own browser tab when you launch a demo.
  • Who sees the answers: only the seller presenting. The buyer sees the shared player tab, never the Seller Xpert pane.
  • Where admins configure it: AI center → Settings — the Seller Xpert card and the Seller knowledge card.
  • Per-demo override: the demo's Share modal, in the Seller Xpert row.
  • Role access: Company admins configure the workspace defaults; any presenter can use Seller Xpert on a demo where it's enabled.

What Seller Xpert Does

  • Answers your questions mid-demo. Type what the buyer just asked, or ask Seller Xpert what to highlight on the current screen. Answers stream in as a short headline plus bullet points, with the sources used shown as chips.
  • Flags internal material. Bullets or sources drawn from Seller knowledge are marked with an Internal badge so you know not to read them out word for word.
  • Suggests the next screen. When the best answer is "show them this", Seller Xpert adds a Show "{screen}" button. Click it and the buyer's player jumps to that screen. If the suggestion is in another demo, the button switches the buyer to that demo too, and a banner across the top offers Back to {previous demo} in one click.
  • Listens to the call. Turn on Listen to the call and Seller Xpert transcribes the conversation, posts what the buyer said as Heard on the call entries, and streams a proactive Suggested answer card you can Copy, make Shorter, or Show on the buyer's screen.
  • Remembers who you're presenting to. A banner asks for the viewer's email, domain or company so the call and Seller Xpert summary can be logged against their CRM record.
  • Degrades gracefully. If the player tab closes, the channel drops, or your workspace runs out of AI credits, Seller Xpert tells you plainly in the pane and keeps the question you were asking.

Open Seller Xpert During a Demo

  1. Launch the demo. Walnut shows a Welcome card over the player — see The welcome card below. Click Open presenter view and the Presenter Notes window opens in a separate browser tab.
  2. The Seller Xpert pane sits inside that window alongside your notes. If Auto-open the presenter window is on for your workspace, this happens on your first click in the demo — browsers block windows that open on their own, so the first click is the trigger. If it's set to Hint instead, the demo shows a prompt to open the window.
  3. The pane starts with your current screen name and two starter chips — for example, What should I highlight on {screen}? and Where should I take the demo next? Click one, or type your own question in the composer at the bottom.

The Presenter Window

The presenter window is the private, second-screen view where Seller Xpert lives. Open it on your other monitor and keep the demo tab on the screen you share — the buyer never sees this window.

The welcome card

When you launch a demo, a Welcome card greets you by name and lists what the window does — with Seller Xpert on: Answers buyer questions, Suggests the next screen, Shows your notes. Two optional fields let you set up the call before the window opens:

  • Listen to the call — tick it to start listening as soon as the window opens (shown when listening is enabled for your workspace). Your choice is remembered for next time.
  • Who are you presenting to? (optional) — an email, domain or company name. It logs this call and the Seller Xpert summary on their CRM record.

Then pick one of three buttons:

  • Open presenter view — opens the window. Focus starts here, so pressing Enter opens it too.
  • Not now — closes the card for this launch. You can still open the window from the demo.
  • Don't show again — opens the window and stops showing the card to you in this workspace, in this browser.

If the browser blocks the pop-up. When the window is set to open on its own and the browser blocks it, the card switches to an Allow pop-ups once panel showing where to click the blocked-window icon in the address bar and choose Always allow. Next time, the presenter view opens by itself. This version of the card appears even if you chose Don't show again, because it's the only sign that auto-open failed.

The window header

The header shows Presenter view, the demo name and your position (for example, Screen 3 of 12). A badge on the right reads Only you see this window while the window is connected to the demo tab, and switches to Player not connected if that connection drops. If the buyer follows a link into another demo, the window follows them to the new demo's screen.

Arrange the window

With Seller Xpert on, your note and the Seller Xpert pane sit side by side — or stacked, note on top, when the window is narrower than 900px.

  • Resize — drag the divider between the note and Seller Xpert. The note column is at least 320px wide and at most 60% of the window, so Seller Xpert always stays readable. Focus the divider and press ← / → to nudge it, or double-click it to reset. Your width is remembered in this browser.
  • Hide note — the chevron in the note's header collapses it to a one-line strip with the screen name and the start of the note. Click Show notes to bring it back. Below 900px the note starts collapsed so Seller Xpert keeps its room. The collapsed state is remembered too.
  • Screens without a note show "No note for this screen" — Seller Xpert still knows what's on screen and can answer about it.

Switch presets from the window

If the demo has variable presets, a Presets bar sits under the header with the name of the preset the buyer's view is running on. Image values (like a logo) show as small thumbnails instead of raw URLs, so you can see at a glance what the demo is skinned with.

  • Click Switch — or press P anywhere in the window — to open the preset switcher.
  • Type to filter presets by name or by any value inside them. Use ↑ / ↓ to move, Enter to pick and Esc to close. The preset you're on is marked Current.
  • Picking a preset reloads the buyer's view on the current screen. The bar shows Switching to…, then {preset} is live · buyer's view reloaded on {screen} with a one-click Switch back to {previous}.
  • A demo with a single preset shows its name with an Only preset label and no switcher.

Close the window

Close it like any browser window, or close the demo tab — closing either one cleans up the other. To reopen the presenter window, open the demo again.

Ask Questions and Show Screens

Every question creates a conversation turn in the pane:

  • The question appears on the right, tagged with the screen you were on.
  • Seller Xpert replies with a one-line headline — the answer you lead with on the call — followed by two to four talking-point bullets. Sources are shown underneath as chips — "This demo", other demo names, or Internal · {source name} for seller-only material.
  • Earlier turns collapse into a one-line summary under Earlier in this call. Click a line to expand the full answer again.

Internal material — don't read it aloud

Seller knowledge (battlecards, pricing notes, product gaps) is there to help you, not to be quoted to the buyer. Seller Xpert flags it in three places:

  • On a bullet — an Internal pill with a lock icon at the start of the line. Treat that bullet as context for you, not a quote for the buyer.
  • On the answer — an Includes internal pill next to the Seller Xpert label whenever any part of the answer uses internal material. On a narrow pane it shrinks to the lock icon.
  • On the source chip — Internal · {source name}. Hover it to see "Internal. Never shown to buyers. Don't read it out word for word."

Copy on a suggested answer leaves out every internal bullet, so what you paste into the chat or an email is safe to send to the buyer.

What Seller Xpert won't make up

Because only the seller reads the answers, Seller Xpert can include pricing and competitive points — but only when one of your sources states them. It won't invent prices, discounts, packaging, roadmap dates, customer names or competitive claims.

If no source supports an answer, you get an "I don't have a confident answer to this." card instead of a guess. It sums up what the sources did and didn't cover and shows a Searched row listing the knowledge Seller Xpert checked. A no-answer card never has a Show button or source chips, and admins see the gap in Insights so it can be filled.

Show a screen to the buyer

When an answer points at a screen, a Show button appears below it. Nothing changes for the buyer until you click it:

  • Hover or focus the button to preview the thumbnail the buyer will see.
  • Click it to move the buyer's player to that screen. Your Presenter Notes follow the same screen so you stay in sync. The button is replaced by a Shown "{screen}" chip that stays in the conversation as a record of where you took the buyer.
  • If the buyer is already on the screen the answer points at, there's no Show button.
  • If the target screen is in a different demo, the button says Show "{screen}" in {demo}, with Switches the demo the buyer sees next to it. Clicking it switches both players to that demo. The Buyer now sees {demo} banner stays at the top of the pane with a Back to {previous demo} button for a one-click return.
  • If the player can't be reached (closed tab, dropped connection), Seller Xpert shows Couldn't change the buyer's screen with the reason and a Try again button. If the Back button can't reach the player, the banner asks you to check the player tab and try again.

Each suggested answer card from Listening mode also has Copy (puts the plain-text answer on your clipboard without internal bullets or bold marks) and Shorter (asks Seller Xpert to tighten the answer).

Listen to the Call

Listening mode lets Seller Xpert hear the conversation and suggest answers as the buyer asks them — with no meeting-tool integration, calendar connection or recording bot. It works in the browser: you share the call's audio, Seller Xpert transcribes it in short clips, and it brings up an answer and the best next screen for each question the buyer asks.

Before you start

  • An admin must allow Listening mode in AI center → Settings. If it's off, the pane shows "Listening is off for this demo."
  • Let the buyer know you're using an AI assistant that transcribes the call. Turning listening on is your confirmation that everyone on the call agreed to be transcribed — some regions require it. For example: "Quick heads-up, I use an AI assistant that transcribes our call so I can answer faster. OK with everyone?"

Choose how Seller Xpert hears the call

Pick an input from the dropdown next to the Listen to the call switch. Your choice is remembered in this browser for the next call.

  • Call audio (share tab or screen) — Walnut opens your browser's share picker. Pick the tab your meeting runs in (Zoom, Google Meet or Teams on the web) with Also share tab audio on, or your entire screen with Also share system audio on (Windows, or macOS 14.2 and later). Walnut also asks for your microphone, so it hears the buyer through the call audio and you through your mic.
  • Microphone only — Walnut only opens your microphone and hears the room. Use this when your call runs in a desktop app whose audio the browser can't share, or when you're in the same room as the buyer.

Turn listening on

  1. In the presenter window header, pick your input and flip the Listen to the call switch.
  2. The browser asks you to share a tab or screen (or just the microphone, for Microphone only). Allow it.
  3. The switch becomes a Listening pill with a running timer and a level meter per stream — Call audio and Your mic, or Room audio for microphone only.

If you ticked Listen to the call on the welcome card, the pane shows "Seller Xpert is ready to listen to the call" when the window opens. Click Click to share the call's audio to pick the tab — browsers only start sharing from a click.

What Seller Xpert does with what it hears

Each transcribed line the buyer says is sorted into one of three kinds:

  • A question for you — Seller Xpert rewrites it as a standalone question and streams a Suggested answer card into the pane, with the screen that best covers it.
  • A topic the buyer cares about, without a question — Seller Xpert can still suggest the matching screen.
  • Anything else — small talk, scheduling, audio checks — is ignored.

With Microphone only, one mic hears both sides, so Seller Xpert also works out whether a line sounds like the buyer or you, so your own narration doesn't set off answers.

In the pane:

  • Lines the buyer said are posted on the left as Heard on the call · Buyer · {time} entries.
  • Each Suggested answer card carries the same Show, Copy and Shorter actions as a regular answer.
  • If a newer question supersedes an older suggestion, the earlier card is marked Superseded and dims.

Audio is sent to Walnut for transcription in short clips and is never stored — only the text is kept.

Pause, resume and stop

  • Pause on the Listening pill freezes the meters and stops sending audio; Resume carries on.
  • Stop on the pill (or flipping the switch off) ends capture, and the browser's sharing banner goes away.

Closing the presenter window, ending the share from the browser's banner, or revoking the microphone also stops listening.

If listening won't start or stops

The pane shows a notice for each case:

  • No call audio was shared — you shared a tab or screen without its audio. Share again with Also share tab audio (a tab) or Also share system audio (a whole screen) on, or switch to Use microphone only.
  • Couldn't capture the call — the share picker was cancelled or the microphone was blocked. Share the call's tab or screen and allow the microphone, then try again.
  • Sharing stopped — the shared audio or your microphone ended. Turn listening on again to continue.
  • Consent is needed to listen — turn listening on again and confirm everyone on the call agreed to be transcribed.
  • Transcription isn't available right now — try again in a few minutes.
  • Couldn't start listening — Seller Xpert isn't connected yet. Wait a moment, then try again.
  • Listening stopped: your company is out of AI credits — ask your admin to add AI credits.
  • Listening is off for this demo — an admin can turn on listening mode in AI Control Center.

You can keep typing questions in the composer even when listening is off or failing.

"Who Are You Presenting To?"

If you didn't fill it in on the welcome card, a banner asks who you're presenting to when the pane first opens. Add an email, a domain or a company name and Walnut logs this call and Seller Xpert's summary to the matching CRM record. Once set, the window header shows Presenting to {customer} with a Change link, and the value is dropped from the browser URL so it doesn't leak into history or analytics.

Workspace Settings (Admins)

Open AI center → Settings to find two cards:

Seller Xpert card

  • Seller Xpert for this account — the master switch. Off hides Seller Xpert from every presenter in the workspace.
  • Default for demos — new and existing demos use Seller Xpert unless a demo overrides it.
  • Auto-open the presenter window — opens the Presenter Notes window on the seller's first click in the demo. Off shows a hint instead.
  • Listening mode — allows presenters to turn Listen to the call on. Off disables listening but still allows typed questions.

Each setting saves on its own and shows a confirming toast; a failed save reverts and shows an error toast.

Seller knowledge card

Seller knowledge is internal material only Seller Xpert reads — it is never used by Buyer Xpert and never shown to buyers.

Click Add source and pick a tab:

  • Web page — a URL that is crawled and kept in sync.
  • Paste text — a title and a body you paste in (for example, pricing guidance or an objection-handling script).
  • Upload file — a PDF. Extraction uses AI credits.

Each source shows a status pill (Pending, Processing, Synced or Failed) and the date it was added. Re-sync a source with the refresh icon, retry a failed source with Retry, or remove one with the trash icon. Failed sources are not used by Seller Xpert until they're fixed, and the card warns you when any have failed.

Per-Demo Override

Open a demo's Share modal. The Seller Xpert row shows the current setting as a summary (for example, On · Auto-open or Account default · On · Hint). Click Configure to pin either value for this demo:

  • Seller Xpert: On, Off, or Account default (follows the workspace setting).
  • Presenting: Auto-open, Hint, or Account default (follows the workspace setting).

The Account default segment names what it currently resolves to, so you can tell at a glance what the demo will inherit. Overrides save on click.

FAQs

Does the buyer see what Seller Xpert says? No. Seller Xpert lives in the Presenter Notes window, which is a separate browser tab. The buyer only sees the demo tab you share.

Where does Seller Xpert get its answers? From this demo and your other demos, from the workspace Knowledge & context sources that also ground Buyer Xpert, and from the seller-only Seller knowledge library. Internal bullets and sources are marked with an Internal badge so you don't read them out verbatim.

What if the buyer asks something Seller Xpert can't answer? The pane shows an "I don't have a confident answer to this" card listing where it searched, so you know the gap. Admins see these gaps in Insights.

Does Seller Xpert record the call? No. Listening sends short audio clips to Walnut for transcription only; the audio is not stored. By turning listening on you confirm everyone on the call agreed to be transcribed.

Do I need a Zoom, Teams or Gong integration for listening? No. Listening works from the browser — you share the call's tab or screen audio, or use your microphone. Nothing is installed in your meeting tool.

Does Seller Xpert work across demos? Yes. When the best next screen is in another demo, Seller Xpert can switch the buyer to that demo in one click, with a Back to {previous demo} button to return.

What happens when the workspace is out of AI credits? Seller Xpert is paused and the pane shows a banner. Your Presenter Notes keep following the screen as usual.
