Pin a hero banner across every Deal Room page
Pin a hero banner across every Deal Room page
About This Featureโ
A Deal Room hero is a banner section on the first page that you want everyone to see no matter which page they land on. Pin it with Show on all pages and that banner leads every page of the room โ above the page's own content, with the first page itself rendering it exactly once in place.
Use it for the piece of context that belongs at the top of every page: the room's title and account logos, a welcome message, an executive summary, or a status badge for the deal.
Snapshot ๐ธโ
Feature Status: Included with Deal Rooms (Add-On)
Role Access: Admin, Editor
Location: Deal Room editor โ a Banner section on the first page โ section menu โ Show on all pages
How It Worksโ
- Only a Banner section can be pinned as the hero.
- The toggle is offered on first-page banners. If you later reorder pages and the pinned banner's page is no longer first, the toggle stays available on that section so you can turn it off.
- A Deal Room has one pinned hero at a time. Turning on Show on all pages on another banner replaces the previous one.
- On every page other than the first, the pinned banner is inserted at the very top of the page, above that page's own banner if the page has one.
- In the editor, the hero is shown on the other pages as a read-only preview with a Fixed hero ยท edit on first page badge โ click into the first page to make changes.
- If your room uses a side navigation with the banner above nav layout, the pinned hero sits above the nav column so it spans the full width of the room on every page, just like a first-page banner would.
Quick Start Guideโ
1. Add or open a banner on the first pageโ
In the Deal Room editor, go to the first page and add a Banner section โ or open an existing one. Set the title, description, logos, and background the way you want them to appear across the whole room.
2. Pin it with Show on all pagesโ
Right-click the banner (or open its section menu from the toolbar) and choose Show on all pages. The menu item uses a pin icon.
The banner is now the room's fixed hero. Switch to any other page in the editor to preview how it will lead that page.
3. Edit the heroโ
Edits are made on the first page, where the banner lives. On other pages the hero shows as a read-only preview with the Fixed hero ยท edit on first page badge โ click the first page tab to change the text, logos, background, or layout.
4. Unpin itโ
Open the banner's section menu again and choose Stop showing on all pages. The banner stays on its own page as a regular section; it just no longer leads the other pages.
FAQsโ
Which section types can be pinned? Only the Banner section. Gallery, Carousel, Side-by-side, Embedded content, Text, and Comparison table sections cannot be pinned as the hero.
Can I pin a banner from a page other than the first? No โ the pin is offered on first-page banners. If you want a different banner to lead the room, move it to the first page and pin it from there.
Can I have more than one pinned hero? No. A Deal Room has one fixed hero at a time; pinning another banner replaces the previous one.
Why can I still see the toggle on a banner that isn't on the first page? If a banner was pinned and the page was later moved out of the first slot, the toggle remains on that section so you can turn Show on all pages off. To pin a different banner as the hero, move it to the first page.
Does the hero appear twice on the first page? No. On the first page the banner renders once, in place. Only on other pages is it inserted at the top as a leading hero.
How does this interact with page-level access? The pinned hero follows the same page the viewer is on. On a page a given viewer can't open, the hero isn't shown either โ because that page isn't rendered for them.
