Set company-wide deal room defaults

Admins can set defaults that apply to deal rooms across the company, so reps don't have to configure every room by hand. Each room can still override most of them.

Role Access: Account owner, Company admin

Location: Settings → Account settings

Other members can see these settings but can't change them.

Comments

Where: Account settings → Deal Rooms → Comments

Turn this on to let viewers leave comments in deal rooms, or off to stop them.

  • The company setting applies to every deal room that hasn't set its own value, including rooms that already exist.
  • To override it for one room, open the room in the editor, click the gear icon in the top bar, and use the Comments switch. Once you change a room's switch, that room keeps its own setting even if the company default changes later.
  • Turning comments off hides existing comment threads. Nothing is deleted, and turning comments back on brings them all back.

Mutual Action Plan button text

Where: Account settings → Deal Rooms → Mutual Action Plan button text for new Deal Rooms

Sets the label of the Mutual Action Plan button in deal rooms created from now on. Existing deal rooms keep their current label. To rename the button in an existing room, use that room's Styling options.

View notifications

Where: Account settings → Notifications → Enabled notifications

Choose who gets an email when someone views content:

  • Creator
  • Deal owner (from CRM)
  • Account owner (from CRM)

This is the default for new content. Each deal room can be customized in its own Manage notifications settings, including adding specific Walnut users. See Deal owner notifications.

Weekly deals summary email

Where: Account settings → Emails → Weekly deals summary

When it's on, Walnut sends each deal owner a weekly email, Weekly Walnut Wrap-up, with suggestions on how to push their deals forward. It goes out on Mondays.

The email includes:

  • Deals closed and won that week
  • Deals with new stakeholders
  • Deals with demos viewed this week
  • Deals that lost demo momentum
  • A Go to deal intel button that opens the Deals page

Who receives it:

  • Members who own at least one open opportunity in Salesforce, matched by email address.
  • The email is only sent when there's something to report in at least one of the three deal lists.

Each person can stop receiving it with the Unsubscribe from email notifications link at the bottom of the email.

FAQs

I turned comments off for the company. Why do some rooms still allow comments?

Those rooms have their own Comments setting, which overrides the company default. Turn comments off in each of those rooms.

Why didn't a deal owner get the Weekly deals summary?

They may not own an open Salesforce opportunity, their Walnut email may not match the CRM owner's email, or there was nothing new to report on their deals that week.
