A library of short, real prompts for the Walnut Homepage box, grouped by goal, with what happens when you send each one.
What to type into the Homepage: 20 prompts that work
Overview
The Homepage box asks "What would you like to get done today?" and routes your sentence to the right place: the Editor, a Deal Room or Playlist, an Insights answer, your library, a Help Center answer, or Settings. The hard part is knowing what to type.
This article is a prompt library. Each prompt below is short, works as written (swap in your own names), and comes with one line on what happens when you send it. For how the box works in detail, see The Walnut Homepage.
Snapshot
- Who it's for: everyone with access to the Homepage. What Walnut will do follows your role, so each section notes who can use it.
- What you'll need: Walnut's AI features on your workspace. Without them you see the classic homepage instead.
- Time to set up: none. Type a prompt and press Enter (Shift + Enter adds a new line).

Plan and build a demo
For editors and admins. Presenters can use the second prompt.
Create a new demo template for prospects in a first call
Opens the demo planning assistant with your sentence as the brief. It asks where to learn the demo from, who it's for, what to cover and how long it should run, then drafts a plan before anything is captured.
Create a demo from an existing template for a retail prospect
Opens the Editor on a new demo. If Walnut isn't sure which template to start from, it shows a Which template should this start from? card with your templates ranked against your sentence. For presenters, this opens the personalised demo dialog instead.
Capture my product or new feature at https://app.example.com/reports
Opens the Editor with your sentence seeded into the agent conversation, ready to capture the new feature.
Find something in your library with
For everyone. You only see items you can open in the library.
#onboarding walkthrough
A bare mention. Typing # opens the In your library panel; pick a row with the arrow keys and Enter. A bare template or Deal Room opens directly, and a bare demo is searched for in your library.
Find the security deep dive demo
Library search results appear on the page, each with its owner and last edit, plus See all in Library to keep browsing.
#reporting dashboard for a mid-market prospect
A sentence-shaped mention (around six words) is ranked by meaning, using each demo's AI-generated summary, so the right template can surface even when none of your words are in its name.
Turn #Platform Tour into a deal room
A mention inside a longer sentence keeps your intent and uses the item as context. You can mention one item per request.
Ask about your data
For editors, presenters and admins.
How many views did #Platform Tour get last week?
Answered on the page in a From your Insights card, pinned to that one demo, with Open Insights beside it.
Which of my demos had the most engagement last month?
Another From your Insights card. Ask follow-ups in the same conversation; earlier cards stay in place so you can scroll back.
Organize the library as an admin
Library reorganisation plans are for account owners and company admins. If your role can't make a change, Walnut tells you who can.
Reorg the library and group by product area
You get an organisation plan to review. Nothing moves until you click an action.
Create a folder for Q4 campaign demos
Read as a tidy-up request, so you get a plan to review rather than an instant change.
Archive last quarter's demos
Read as an instruction to act, so a conversation walks you through making the change. Compare "How do I archive a demo", which goes to the Help Center instead.
Tag every onboarding demo with "onboarding"
Another instruction. Walnut walks you through it in a conversation, the same way it handles renames and re-shares.
Invite teammates
Invite jordan@example.com to the account as a presenter
Admins get the invite dialog. Everyone else gets a sentence naming the account owners and admins to ask.
Jump to Deal Rooms, Playlists, Insights, Settings and Help
Prep a deal room for my renewal call next week
Takes you straight to the Deal Room editor with the agent, carrying your sentence with it.
Curate a playlist about security and compliance
Takes you straight to the Playlist editor with the agent.
Build a resource hub for the Q3 campaign
Resource hubs are built in the same Deal Room and Playlist editor, so this lands there too.
How do I add a guide to a screen?
A From the Help Center card with an answer and the top three articles cited beneath it. Start with /ask to search the Help Center directly.
How many AI credits do we have left?
A link to the right page, here the AI Control Center.
Connect our CRM integration
A link to the Integrations page. Settings, integrations and AI Control Center changes are for account owners and company admins.
Tips for a better result
- Say what you want done, not just a noun. The box reads the shape of your sentence. "How do I..." goes to the Help Center; "Archive..." is treated as an action.
- Use # to point at one item. It removes guesswork about which demo or template you mean.
- Go longer when you don't know the name. One or two words after
#match names and tags. A short descriptive sentence is matched by meaning. - Use the chips as starters. The quick-action chips write a sentence stem into the box and never send on their own, so you can rewrite them into a different request.
- If Walnut asks a follow-up, answer it. An ambiguous request doesn't navigate. It asks a question or shows two to four destinations to pick from.
- Pick up where you left off. Every routed conversation lands in Recent sessions, so you can resume it later with its full history.
Key takeaways
- One box covers building, finding, asking about performance, organizing, inviting and getting help.
#mentions pin a request to one library item and can search by meaning.- Nothing changes in your library until you click an action or confirm in a conversation.
- What Walnut does for you follows your role. Admin-only requests tell other roles who to ask.
