What’s New
âś“ Subfolders
Create deeper structures inside your Library to organize content by product, region, team, lifecycle stage, or any custom taxonomy.
âś“ Tree View Navigation
Quickly expand, collapse, and move across nested folders — no more endless scrolling.
âś“ Updated Library Item Thumbnails
The updated Library cards make it easier to understand each asset at a glance. Every demo, template, and playlist now surfaces key details directly on the card, so you can quickly decide what to open, share, or update.
âś“ Cleaner, Modern Layout
Improved spacing, typography, and readability for faster scanning and easier management.
Get Started with Subfolders
You can create subfolders inside any existing folder.
Create a New Subfolder
- Open the Walnut Library.
- Open an existing folder.
-
Click the New Folder button in the top right corner.
-
Name your subfolder and click Create.
Subfolder Settings
Use the folder’s three-dot menu (•••) to quickly manage it — including renaming, moving, changing the color, deleting, or sharing a link.
Move a Subfolder
You can move any folder or subfolder to a new location in your Library to keep your structure organized as your workspace grows.
- Hover over the folder you want to move.
- Click the three-dot menu (•••) and select Move.
- Choose the new parent folder from the list.
- Confirm the move to update the folder’s location.
The folder and all of its contents will appear under the new parent folder, keeping your nested structure intact.
Rename a Subfolder
- Hover over the folder you want to update.
- Click the three-dot menu (•••).
- Select Rename and enter the new folder name.
Delete a Subfolder (Archive Its Contents)
When you delete a folder or subfolder, all files contained in that folder are archived and lose their current folder structure. This helps keep your Library clean while preserving the individual assets. You can access archived items anytime using Filter → Archived in the Library.
Before anything changes, you’ll see a confirmation dialog:
Click Archive all to proceed or Cancel to keep the folder and its structure as-is.Â
Subfolder Permissions
Subfolders automatically inherit permissions from their parent folder. If you need a different permission setup for a specific subfolder, update the permissions on its parent folder to ensure access remains aligned and predictable.
Before making permission changes, consider whether the folder should actually become a parent folder. Creating a dedicated top-level folder for content with unique access requirements can help keep your workspace cleaner and governance more consistent.
This helps you:
- Maintain consistent access across teams and regions.
- Reduce accidental sharing or mis-sharing of sensitive content.
- Keep workspace governance simple as your Library scales.
Folder Structure Inspiration
Not sure where to start? Here are common folder patterns high-performing teams use when organizing large Walnut workspaces. Use these examples as inspiration and adapt them to your own product, team structure, and demo strategy.
