About
Custom domains allow you to use Walnut demos with a branded domain.
- To set up a custom domain, you may need to contact your IT department because this requires access to your DNS settings. We're happy to communicate directly with your team if needed!
- Custom domains are a paid feature. Please reach out to your CSM for details.
- Once a CNAME record is in-place, your demos will be served securely, over HTTPS connection. Our systems will provision a valid SSL certificate and the demos will be served securely using TLS 1.2.
- If DNS records are changed or deleted, Walnut demos will stop working. Please be sure to update if there are changes made.
- Check out our demo Set your custom domain.
Enable a custom domain
In this sample workflow, we’ll use:
- the primary domain of awesom.com and a
- custom domain of demos.awesome.com
> To enable a custom domain:
- Create a CNAME DNS record for demos.awesome.com (your custom domain) that points to custom-domain.teamwalnut.com.
- Ensure that custom-domain.teamwalnut.com is written exactly as you see it here.
- Submit a ticket using the Submit a request form and a member of our support team will complete the setup.
- Once the setup is complete, you can use the domain immediately, using TLS 1.2.
- Make a note of your new URL.
- Original host name: https://app.teamwalnut.com/demo/?demoId=fbfdf239-315e-4fe5-bed0-61dcd06b8814
- New host name: https://your.domain.com/demo/?demoId=fbfdf239-315e-4fe5-bed0-61dcd06b8814
Fix a broken link
It can happen, typically if someone changed the active CNAME record or it does not point to custom-domain.teamwalnut.com.
The good news is that you can still access each demo using the default Walnut prefix, even if the custom domain encounters an issue.
> To fix a broken link:
- Check your CNAME record.
- Contact Customer Support if there are changes.
