About
Adding audio and syncing it to screens and guides is a breeze with Walnut’s Text to Speech feature.
Before you start
- Text to Speech requires the use of AI. To proceed, be sure to accept the terms and conditions. This message will not reoccur once accepted.
- You can add as many audio files as you want.
- Enable Autoplay all for screens and/or guides so that the audio plays automatically.
Add audio to guides
> To add audio to guides:
- Open the template in Edit mode. From the right-hand toolbar, click the Guides icon. This opens the Guides pane in the screen header.
-
Select the guide and click the Text to Speech icon.
-
Read the AI terms, then click Accept.
-
With the guide selected, click the Text to Speech icon again to open the audio popup.
- Select the voice, then click Generate.
-
The audio and play button appears at the bottom of the guide.
Autoplay audio
You can leave it up to the viewer to click the audio, or have the audio play automatically, simulating a video. You can set autoplay for:
- All screens
- All guides
- Selected screens
- Selected guides
For more on autoplay, head over to the article Autoplay demos.
Update audio
When you change text in guides, the audio does not update automatically. Use this workflow.
To update audio to mirror changed text in guides:
- Select the guide where the text has changed.
- Click the Bin icon to delete the current audio file.
- Click the Text to Speech icon and click Generate.
- Play the new audio file to verify the audio matches the updated text.
NOTE: If you added a recording but then deleted the original text, the recording will remain. Delete the audio and then regenerate.
Remove audio
Select the guide and in the audio file section, click the Bin icon to delete the audio file.
