Before getting started
It’s important to determine whether you’d like to use the translations provided from our API or to provide custom translations.
How it works
There are two options for translating, either by using Walnut's API translations or creating custom translations.
Create using API translations:
- Navigate to a demo and go to the Guide panel.
- Click the “Globe” icon on the top menu of the Guides.
- Select a language or multiple languages to translate the annotations from the multi-selection dropdown.
Create with custom translations:
- Export the guides to a CSV
- Open and edit the CSV
- Import it back for the edits to be applied
Once a CSV has been imported, an indication of errors, if any, will be reported alongside a CSV that contains errors to correct.
Playing the demo:
- When the demos is opened, Walnut detects the language from the browser local information and presents the demo in the appropriate language.
- The demo creator can choose to allow users to switch languages during demo play or not.
- When selected, the demo viewer will be able switch to preview the language by toggling it from the demo toolbar menu.
Important to note 📝
- Walnut uses Google Translation API for translating guides content.
- The basic package allows you to translate up to three languages per template. You can upgrade to the Advanced Translations package for access to hundreds of languages per template. Reach out to your CSM for more information.
