Integrating with Marketo enables you to seamlessly incorporate demo engagement data into your workflow, enriching your sales process with key insights.
Key features of this integration include:
- Embedding Marketo forms to capture demo engagement data directly with newly created leads.
- Syncing demo engagement data with existing leads to ensure a comprehensive view of prospect interactions.
Please note: To set up this integration, you will need to be a Marketo user admin permissions.
Before getting started
Ensure the Following Before Proceeding with Integration:
- Make sure you have one available Custom Activity; this is necessary for the process to work.
- Avoid creating any new custom activities or fields—you must have an existing free Custom Activity ready.
- Confirm that the correct API user is assigned when setting up the new service.
The API user must have the following permissions:
- Read-Write Activity
- Read-Write Activity Metadata
- Read-Write Person
- Read-Write Schema Custom Field
- Read-Write Schema Standard Field
Integrating Marketo
Enter the "Integrations" tab in Walnut and press learn more next to Marketo.
Click within the modal. This will lead you to connect your desired Marketo environment to Walnut.
Give the selected environment a name, then add the following Marketo Credentials:
- the 'API endpoint domain'
- Client ID
- Client Secret
Once the connection is set up, you will see the confirmation within the Walnut Integrations page.

- Once the Marketo <> Walnut integration is established, you will be able to embed lead forms into your Walnut demos. Leads created through your embedded form will be available with enriched data in Marketo. Learn more here.
