Taking the time to customize your guides can really help bring your demo to life! Don't forget to set your guides so that they match your brand color, have important images, and your company logo.
Customizing guides
There are three type of Guides that can be used within Walnut
- Modals
- Tooltips
- Hotspots
Each bring unique value to your demo and can be used for different purposes. When you have a lot of text to display, or want to showcase an image or video, tooltips and modals are your best bet.
Using the guide editor, here are some things you can do to enhance your tooltips and modals:
Add content:
Select the guide you'd like to add content to in order to open the guide editor. Click Edit Content.
You'll then see all the formatting options available for your guide's text.
You can upload images and audio files by clicking on the icon. From there, you can also add a video URL.
Change the guide type:
Once you've added a guide, you can always change it to a different format. Click on the guide itself. From the editor menu, click the modal icon and determine which guide format you'd like to use.
Reposition the guide:
Once you've added a guide, you can always change it to a different location. Click on the guide itself. From the editor menu, click this icon and then determine where you'd like to guide repositioned.
Customize the CTA button
Click on the button you’d like to change and select the Link Icon. | You can then determine what the button should be linked to |
Customize a specific guide
Select one guide and then click the gear icon . From here you can edit button settings, upload an avatar, and dimming effects. Edits made here will display only on the selected guide.

Customize all guides
Click the gear icon found in the top right corner of the template editor. With the settings page open, click Guides and make edits to the buttons, color, avatar, and more. Changes made here will apply to all guides in the template.
