Requesting a Custom Domain

Paid Feature: Please contact your CSM to enable Custom Domains.

Overview

Custom domains allow you to serve Walnut demos behind your domain. To set up a custom domain, you need access to your site DNS settings. You may need to contact your IT department in order to determine who has access to the DNS settings. We're happy to communicate directly with them if you're able to put us in touch!

Instructions

1. Create a CNAME DNS record for your custom domain that points to:

custom-domain.teamwalnut.com

For example, if your primary domain is awesome.com and your custom domain is demos.awesome.com, you should create a CNAME record for demos.awesome.com that points to custom-domain.teamwalnut.com. 

Note:

custom-domain.teamwalnut.com should be written exactly as custom-domain.teamwalnut.com NOT demos.awesome.teamwalnut.com

2. Submit a ticket using this form, and a member of the Support Team will help complete the setup!

3. Once setup is complete, you can begin using your custom domain immediately.

FAQs

Will my demo be served securely, over HTTPS connection?

Yes, once a CNAME record is in-place, our systems will provision a valid SSL certificate and the demos will be served securely using TLS 1.2.

What would be the new URL, using custom domain?

The URL would remain as it was, changing the hostname i.e https://app.teamwalnut.com/demo/?demoId=fbfdf239-315e-4fe5-bed0-61dcd06b8814 = https://your.domain.com/demo/?demoId=fbfdf239-315e-4fe5-bed0-61dcd06b8814
