When you create a playlist, Walnut opens the **Start from a template** gallery. Start from a ready-made template built by Walnut, or start from scratch with a blank layout.

## **Create a playlist from the gallery**

1. In the Walnut Library, click **New** and choose **Playlist**.
2. The **Start from a template** gallery opens. Pick one of the options below.
3. Check the preview on the right, then click **Use this template** (for a template) or **Create** (for a blank layout).

Walnut creates the playlist in the folder you're in and opens it in the editor. If you leave the editor without making any changes, the untouched copy is archived automatically, so trying out templates doesn't clutter your Library.

## **Start from scratch**

The **Start from scratch** column offers three blank layouts:

| Layout | Best for |
| --- | --- |
| **Choose Your Own Adventure** | Letting buyers explore on their own by choosing demos, videos, and other content. Best for pre- and post-call sharing and champion-led sharing. |
| **Sales Hub** | Taking prospects on a guided journey through demos, videos, presentations, and more. Best for live presentations and async follow-up. |
| **Customer Hub** | Customer experiences such as quarterly business reviews and ongoing customer success engagements. |

**Sales Hub** and **Customer Hub** are part of an add-on and carry an **ADD-ON** badge if your account doesn't have it. Clicking **Create** on one of them without the add-on shows how to upgrade.

## **Templates**

The **Templates** section lists ready-made templates curated by Walnut. When there's more than one kind, filter them with **All**, **Playlist**, or **Content Hub**. Each card shows its kind.

Select a template to see a live, scaled-down preview with its name and description. The template is a starting point: after you click **Use this template**, everything in your copy is yours to edit.

## **FAQs**

**Is there a gallery for deal rooms too?**

Yes. Choosing **Deal room template** from the **New** menu opens **Start from a deal room template**. See [**Create and manage deal room templates**](/help/deal-rooms/templates).

**Does using a template change the original?**

No. **Use this template** makes a copy. The original template stays the same for everyone.
