## **Overview**

Content hubs get long. Once a Playlist grows past a handful of items, viewers scroll — and often give up before they reach the demo that was built for them.

Two features fix that:

**Pages** let you split an [**Advanced Playlist**](/help/playlists/advanced) across multiple tabs, the same way [**Deal Rooms**](/help/deal-rooms/getting-started) already work. One page per product line, per persona, or per stage.

**In-hub search** adds a search box to the viewer top bar that finds any content item across every page of the hub — available on any multi-page hub, Playlists and Deal Rooms alike.

**Why this matters:**
Structure and search solve the same problem from two directions. Pages give the hub a shape viewers can reason about; search gives them a way to skip the shape entirely and go straight to what they came for.

## **Before You Start**

**Feature status:** Pages are available on [**Advanced Playlists**](/help/playlists/advanced), which are an **add-on feature**. In-hub search is available on any multi-page hub — Advanced Playlists and Deal Rooms.

**Role access:** **Admin**, **Editor**, or **Presenter**.

**Existing hubs are supported.** You do not need to rebuild anything. Pages and search can be turned on for Advanced Playlists you have already created and published.

**Defaults are conservative.** The top bar is **on** and search is **off** by default. Search is opt-in per hub, so nothing changes for viewers of your published Playlists until you enable it.

---

## **Pages on Playlists**

Pages bring the tab navigation experience from Deal Rooms to Advanced Playlists. Each page holds its own sections, and viewers move between them from the tab bar.

You can:

**Add pages** — click the **plus icon** in the tab navigation bar

**Rename** a page

**Reorder** pages by dragging them in the tab bar

**Hide** a page from viewers without deleting it

**Drag sections between pages** to reorganize existing content

**Best practice:** Use pages when your hub serves genuinely different questions — one page per product line, one per buying stage, or one per stakeholder type. If every page would hold the same kind of content, sections on a single page usually read better.

---

## **In-Hub Search**

In-hub search adds a search box to the viewer top bar that matches against the **title and description of every content item**, across **every page** in the hub.

**Fuzzy matching** — viewers do not need the exact title; close is enough.

**Jumps straight to the item** — picking a result navigates to the right page and opens the content **expanded**, with no scrolling or tab-hunting.

**Full keyboard support** — **↑ / ↓** to move through results, **Enter** to open.

**Pro tip:** Search is only as good as your item names. Because it matches titles and descriptions, a hub full of items called *Demo 1* and *Overview* will not search well. Give every content item a descriptive title and a one-line description before you turn search on.

## **The Viewer Top Bar**

Advanced Playlists now have a viewer top bar showing the playlist name, matching the Deal Room header. This is where the search box lives.

One control in the ⚙️ **Settings** panel — **Show top bar** — has three options:

| **Setting** | **What viewers see** |
| --- | --- |
| **Hidden** | No top bar |
| **Visible** | Top bar with the playlist name |
| **Visible with search** | Top bar with the playlist name and the search box |

---

## **Quick Start Guide**

### **Split a Playlist Into Pages**

Open the Advanced Playlist in edit mode.

Click the **plus icon** in the tab navigation bar to add a page.

Rename the page to describe what it holds.

Drag existing sections onto the new page, or add fresh content to it.

Reorder or hide pages as needed, then **Save**.

### **Turn On Search**

Open the ⚙️ **Settings** panel for the hub.

Set **Show top bar** to **Visible with search**.

**Save**, then preview the hub and try a search as a viewer would.

---

## **Do It With AI Mode**

[**AI Mode**](/help/demos/edit/ai-mode/ai-mode) understands pages and search, so you can restructure a hub by asking rather than dragging.

Try prompts like:

*"Split this playlist into pages by product line"*

*"Turn on search for this hub"*

This is especially useful on a large existing Playlist, where reorganizing dozens of sections by hand would take a while.

## **FAQs**

---

**Do I need to create a new Playlist to use pages and search?**

No. Both work on Advanced Playlists you have already built and published. Open the existing hub, add pages, and switch on search from the Settings panel.

---

**Will my published Playlists change for viewers automatically?**

No. The top bar is on by default and search is off by default, and search is enabled per hub. Viewers of your existing Playlists see no change until you turn search on yourself.

---

**Is in-hub search available on Deal Rooms too?**

Yes. Any multi-page hub can offer search — Advanced Playlists and Deal Rooms both.

---

**Are pages available on standard Playlists?**

No. Pages are an Advanced Playlist capability, covering the **Sales Hub** and **Customer Hub** layouts. If you see an **Add-on** label when selecting a layout, Advanced Playlists are not enabled for your workspace — contact your Walnut Customer Success Manager or [request an upgrade here](https://help.walnut.io/hc/en-us/requests/new?ticket_form_id=13368501659411).

---

**What does search actually match against?**

The **title** and **description** of each content item in the hub. It does not search inside the content itself — for example, it will not match text inside an embedded PDF or the screens of a demo.

## **Summary**

Pages give Advanced Playlists the same tabbed structure Deal Rooms have, so a single hub can serve several product lines, personas, or stages without becoming an endless scroll.

In-hub search sits on top of that structure and lets viewers bypass it entirely, jumping straight to any content item across any page.

Both work on hubs you have already built, and both are opt-in — so you can adopt them where they help without disturbing published experiences.

**Final Takeaway:**
Structure helps viewers who want to browse. Search helps viewers who already know what they want. A large hub needs both.
