## **Overview**

When you’re building and polishing a demo, Walnut shows small on-screen “edit indicators” to help you spot where changes have been applied (like content updates, variables, guide steps, and more). They’re useful — but when you’ve made a lot of edits, the editor can start to feel visually busy.

With **Hide Edit Indicators**, you can choose which indicators are visible so you can keep your workspace clean and stay focused on the final experience.

## **Why You’ll Love This**

- **Less clutter:** Reduce visual noise while reviewing complex screens.
- **Faster QA:** Make it easier to scan layouts and polish details.
- **Perfect after EditsAI:** Ideal when AI has applied many changes across multiple screens.

---

## **How to Hide Edit Indicators**

1. Open any **template**.
2. Select **Template Settings** (gear icon).
3. Click the **View** tab.
4. Under **Show Edit Indicators**, toggle on/off the indicator types you want to see.

:::note[Note]

These settings apply only to your editor view and only in the current template. They don’t affect collaborators and won’t automatically carry over to other templates.

## **What Each Toggle Controls**

In the **View** tab, you can choose which types of indicators you want visible:

- **Links** — Highlights link-related elements or updates.
- **Content Edits** — Shows indicators for manual content changes (like text edits).
- **GenAI Edits** — Shows indicators for AI-generated edits applied through EditsAI.
- **Guide Steps** — Highlights guide steps and placements on screens.
- **Variables** — Shows where variables are applied or referenced.
- **Interactions** — Highlights interactive elements and interaction-based changes.

## **FAQs**

**Will Hiding Edit Indicators Change What My Audience Sees?**

- No — this setting only affects your personal view inside the editor. Your demo will look and behave exactly the same for viewers.

---

**Can I Turn Edit Indicators Back On Later?**

- Yes! This setting is completely reversible. You can show or hide edit indicators at any time while working in a template.

---

- **When Is This Most Helpful to Use?**
This is especially helpful when reviewing or polishing a template after using [**AI Mode**](/help/updates/ai-mode-launch) or making many changes, giving you a cleaner workspace to focus on flow, layout, and final touches.
