:::

---

**2 - Demo Insights Summary**

The **Demo** **Insights** **Summary** gives you an instant pulse check on demo performance — no digging required. Use it to quickly gauge overall engagement and spot momentum trends across your workspace.

![Screenshot 2025-10-27 at 12.42.13 PM copy.png](pathname:///images/b96c8c651abc3e9e.png)

**Key Metrics:**

- **Sessions** — The total number of times your demos or playlists were opened during the selected time range. _Includes repeat visits from the same viewer._
- **Viewers** — The total number of unique viewers who engaged with your demos or playlists.
        _Each viewer is counted once, even if they revisit multiple times._
- **Total** **Time** **Spent** — The combined viewing time across all sessions during the selected period.
        _Ideal for measuring audience interest and content stickiness._

:::note[Pro Tip]

Pair these metrics with date filters or tags to compare performance across campaigns — for example, “Product Launch Q3” vs “Customer Success Demos.”

:::

---

**3 - Dynamic Summary Charts
**

The Dynamic Summary Charts turn your engagement data into visual stories — making it easy to spot trends, spikes, and engagement drop-offs at a glance.

Use these charts to understand how interest evolves over time and how internal vs. external viewers interact with your demos and playlists.

**Sessions Over Time**

See how many demo or playlist sessions were viewed within your selected date range.
Each point represents the total number of sessions (including repeat visits) and helps highlight when engagement peaks.

**![Screenshot 2025-10-27 at 12.54.49 PM.png](pathname:///images/95bd6af996172164.png)**

:::note[Pro Tip]

Use this chart to evaluate campaign timing — for instance, correlate demo traffic with outbound sequences or event launches.

:::

**Viewers Over Time**

Track unique viewers to understand reach and audience growth.
Each viewer is counted once, even if they’ve opened multiple demos or playlists.

**![Screenshot 2025-10-27 at 12.56.41 PM.png](pathname:///images/d27ef7e40f8604f2.png)**

:::note[Pro Tip]

Compare this chart to “Sessions Over Time” — if sessions rise faster than unique viewers, it signals repeat engagement from the same audience.

:::

---

![Screenshot 2025-10-30 at 7.26.47 AM.png](pathname:///images/73938451b70bd1c5.png)

:::note

****🏆 Pro Tips:
****

- High sessions + high visitors = strong reach and interest.
- High sessions + low visitors = repeat engagement from fewer users — a sign of deep interest or internal review.

:::

---

### **Screens Funnel Tab**

The **Screens Funnel Tab** in demo-specific insights shows how viewers move through your demo — screen by screen — so you can identify engagement peaks, conversion paths, and drop-off points. It’s one of the most powerful tools in Walnut Insights for understanding how people actually experience your demo flow.

![unnamed.png](pathname:///images/00f49c67dbc8ea6c.png)

:::note[Important Notes]

- All metrics reflect the selected time range and filters in the dashboard header.
- Data reflects only the **most recent version of your demo** — i.e., the last time the demo was updated from its template.

:::

**How to Use the Screens Funnel:**

1. **Open the Screens Funnel:** Go to Insights → [Demo-Specific Insights](https://help.walnut.io/hc/en-us/articles/32107248394643#h_01K8RH3PPHG61N36WG8EA47CT2) → Screens Funnel.
2. **Select the Time Period (1):** Use the All Data filter at the top of the screen to choose your time range—options include 7 days, 30 days, or a custom date range.
3. **Hide or Show Bounced Sessions:** Toggle Hide Bounced Sessions ON to exclude viewers who exited after the first screen, or OFF to include all sessions.
4. **Filter by Viewer Type:** Switch between All, Internal, or External views using the top-right filter buttons.
5. **Select Your Start Screen (3):** In the Selected Screen dropdown, pick the screen you want to start analyzing.
6. **Set the Number of Steps:** Choose how many steps before and steps after the selected screen you’d like to visualize.
7. **Review the Funnel:** Walnut compiles the results automatically — displaying each screen as a node in the flow, connected by ribbons that represent viewer movement and conversion.

**Understanding the Data:**

The Screens Funnel visualizes how viewers move through your demo — screen by screen — so you can pinpoint what’s working and where drop-off occurs.

- **Screen Sequence:** Shows the exact order of screens as viewers experienced them.
- **Conversion Path:** The connecting ribbons (4) display how many viewers continued from one screen to the next.
- **Conversion Rate (%):** Hover over any ribbon to view the percentage and session count for that transition.

:::note[Pro Tip]

The **Screens** **Funnel** is optimized for non-guided or hybrid demos where viewers can jump between paths. Start by **anchoring a key conversion or value screen (Step 5)**, then work backward to see which **paths** **and** **entry** **points** most often lead there. Drop-offs before critical screens typically indicate friction — trim redundant branches, shorten early flows, or reduce excess navigation links to keep the flow focused and intuitive.

For hybrid flows, maintain a concise main narrative supported by optional side paths that encourage exploration without losing focus.

### **Guides Funnel Tab**

The **Guides Funnel Tab** in demo-specific insights helps you analyze how viewers progress through guided demos — step by step, annotation by annotation. Use it to measure completion rates, identify drop-off points, and compare the performance of different guides in your demo.

![Screenshot 2025-10-30 at 11.13.54 AM.png](pathname:///images/5256a9824f4274b0.png)

:::note[Important Notes]

- All metrics reflect the selected time range and filters in the dashboard header.
- Data reflects only the **most recent version of your demo** — i.e., the last time the demo was updated from its template.

:::

**How to Use the Guides Funnel:**

1. **Open the Funnel:** Go to Insights → Demo-Specific Insights → Guide Funnel.
2. **Select the Time Period:** Use the time filter at the top to choose your date range —
    7 days, 30 days, or a custom range.
3. **Hide or Show Bounced Sessions:** Toggle Hide Bounced Sessions ON to remove sessions with no interaction,or OFF to include all sessions.
4. **Filter by Viewer Type:** Switch between All, Internal, and External views to segment audience behavior.
5. **Select a Guide:** Expand a specific Guide to explore how viewers moved through its annotations and modals. Each guide shows Sessions (number of sessions that started the first annotation) and Completion (percentage of sessions that reached the last annotation).

**Understanding the Data:**
Each guide is broken down into its individual guide steps, showing how many viewers completed or dropped off after each annotation.

- **Sessions:** Number of sessions that started with the first annotation in the guide.
- **Completion:** Percentage of sessions that reached the final annotation.
- **Clicked Next:** Number (and percentage) of viewers who advanced to the next annotation.
- **Dropped:** Number (and percentage) of viewers who exited before completing that step.

:::note[Pro Tip]

Think of the **Guides Funnel** as your _narrative health check for **guided** **demos**_— it reveals how effectively your guided demos lead viewers through a story. Start by identifying where viewers drop off; long annotations, slow modals, or unclear CTAs often cause friction. Compare completion trends across guides to pinpoint which tone, pacing, and structure hold attention best.

If you see high drop-off at later steps, it usually means the flow is too long or complex — simplify, condense, or reposition your **lead form** to improve completion. For hybrid demos, balance **freedom and structure**: keep your core guide concise while letting optional deep-dive annotations branch out naturally. This keeps your **main storyline sharp**, while still encouraging exploration and sustained engagement.

## **Pro Tips & Best Practices Summary 🏆**

Wrap up your learnings with a quick-hit summary of the most valuable **Walnut Insights** tips. Use these _Power Plays_ and _Best Practices_ to fine-tune engagement tracking, boost data quality, and turn every metric into action.

**General Insights Tips**

- **Filter First:** Always apply date, teammate, or tag filters before exporting — it keeps reports clean and context-specific.
- **Ask AI Early:** Use _Insights AI_ to get fast answers like “Top demos this week” or “Which teammate drives the most views?”
- **Completion vs. Bounce:** High completion means your story lands. High bounce? That’s your cue that the form or gate might appear too soon, or that your opener needs a stronger “why keep watching” moment.
- **Refresh Cadence:** Insights update hourly; integrations (Salesforce, HubSpot, Marketo) may take up to 3 hours to reflect.
- **Compare Over Time:** Track trends in the _Visitors Over Time_ chart to identify high-engagement cycles.
- **Segment Smarter:** Use tags for campaign, product line, or region — this makes cross-demo reporting 10× easier.
- **Focus on Median, Not Mean:** Median time spent eliminates outlier bias from extremely short or long sessions.
- **Integrate with Intent:** When syncing with Salesforce or HubSpot, map _Demo Name_ and _Viewer Email_ to keep lead attribution airtight.

**Demo Insights Tips**

- **Engagement Score = Demo Health:** Compare your demo’s score against global benchmarks to gauge relative performance.
- **Funnel Focus:** Review _Screens Funnel_ and _Guides Funnel_ side by side — large screen drop-offs usually reveal UX issues, while guide drop-offs reveal unclear messaging.
- **Identify Power Sections:** Use _Last Screen Viewed_ and _Last Guide Shown_ to see where users stop — those moments define attention thresholds.
- **Top Viewers = Warm Leads:** Track recurring viewers with long average durations — they’re high-intent buyers or internal champions.
- **FAB Clicks = Curiosity Metric:** A high FAB click-through rate means your viewers want to explore further — capitalize by adding CTA guides or follow-up links.
- **Sessions Drill-Down:** Filter for sessions over the median duration to isolate high-quality engagement patterns.
- **Export with Context:** Combine session data with viewer info before sharing to help Sales focus outreach.

**Best Practices:**

- Keep demos under 3–4 minutes for optimal completion.
- Front-load your value prop in the first 30 seconds to reduce bounce.
- Refresh visuals or annotations quarterly to align with product updates.
- Use the _Demo Sessions Table_ to personalize Sales follow-ups based on behavior.
- Pinpoint the “conversion screens” that appear in most high-completion sessions — reuse them across templates.

**Playlist Insights Tips**

- **Completion + Duration Tell the Story:** If average duration is long but completion is low, trim intros or reorder content to start with your strongest demo.
- **Spot the Stars:** Reuse _Top Viewed Items_ across playlists — they consistently capture attention.
- **Viewer Location Map:** Leverage geographic data to align campaigns or webinar timing with regions showing high engagement.
- **Repeat Viewers:** Track re-engagement in the _Playlist Sessions Table_ to identify advocates or upsell candidates.
- **Time-to-Completion:** Use average playlist duration to assess pacing — aim for **5–7 minutes total** for optimal viewer retention.
- **Cross-Demo Lift:** Compare playlist completion vs. standalone demo completion — it highlights which assets benefit most from contextual grouping.
- **Tag by Theme:** Group playlists by persona or product to surface pattern insights in _Visitors Over Time_.

**Best Practices:**

- Limit playlists to 3–5 demos for better flow and retention.
- Place the most visual or interactive demo first to hook viewers.
- Reorder under-performing items to later slots or replace them entirely.
- Use playlist data to brief Sales or CS teams before renewal calls.
- Review performance monthly and archive inactive playlists to maintain clean analytics.
