## **About This Feature**

The **Section Library** is a company-wide store of reusable Deal Room sections. Build a section once — a pricing comparison, a security overview, a customer-proof carousel — save it to the library, and drop it into any other Deal Room instead of rebuilding or copy-pasting it.

Library sections stay connected to the rooms that use them. When you update the library entry, every Deal Room built from it is flagged so its owner can pull the change in.

**Feature Status:** Included with Deal Rooms (Add-On)

**Role Access:** Admin, Editor

**Location:** Deal Room editor → any section's menu → **Save to library** · Browse and manage entries in **Resource Hub → Saved sections**

## **Which Sections Can Be Saved**

Any of the Deal Room section types:

- **Banner**
- **Carousel**
- **Comparison table**
- **Embedded content**
- **Gallery**
- **Side-by-side**

---

## **Quick Start Guide**

### **1\. Save a section to the library**

In the Deal Room editor, open the section's menu and choose **Save to library**.

Walnut saves your latest Deal Room changes first (*"Saving your latest changes to the playlist first…"*) so the library entry captures what you actually see rather than the last autosave. If the Deal Room has never been saved, you'll be asked to save it before the section can be copied into the library.

Then fill in:

- **Name this section** — how it appears in the library. Save-as-new pre-fills the section's own name.
- **Description (optional)** — *What is this section for?* Worth writing: it's the only context the next person has when they're picking from a list.

Choose **Save as new** to create a fresh entry, or **Update existing** to overwrite an entry you already own.

### **2\. Add a library section to a Deal Room**

In the editor, choose **Add from library** (or **Reuse from library**) where you'd normally add a section.

The picker supports:

- **Search sections** by name
- Filtering by **Section type** and by **Saved by me** / **Saved by others**
- Sorting by **Recently saved** or **Recently updated**

Select the entry and click **Insert selected**.

### **3\. Manage entries in the Resource Hub**

Go to **Resource Hub → Saved sections** to see every entry your company has saved, with:

- **Section type**, **Saved by**, **Saved at**, and **Saved from** (the room it came from)
- **Used in N Deal Rooms** — how widely the entry is in play
- Rename, edit the description, move to a folder, or archive the entry

## **Pushing an Update to Rooms Already Using It**

This is what makes the library more than a copy-paste shortcut.

When you update a library entry, every Deal Room that uses it shows an **update available** badge on that section. The room's owner clicks **Update & republish** to pull in the new version and publish the room in one step.

Nothing is forced. A room keeps the version it has until someone chooses to take the update — so a live deal never changes underneath a rep mid-cycle.

## **FAQs**

**Is the Section Library shared across my whole company?**
Yes. Entries saved by anyone are available to everyone with edit access, and the picker lets you filter to **Saved by me** or **Saved by others**.

**If I edit a section inside a Deal Room, does the library entry change?**
No. Editing a section in a room is local to that room. To push the change back, use **Save to library → Update existing**.

**If I update the library entry, do live Deal Rooms change automatically?**
No. They're flagged with **update available**, and someone has to click **Update & republish**. Until then the room keeps exactly what it published.

**What happens to rooms using an entry I archive?**
They keep the copy they already have. Archiving removes the entry from the picker for future use; it doesn't reach into rooms already built.

**Some content didn't come across when I inserted a section.**
You'll see *"Some content couldn't be brought over"*. That usually means the section referenced something scoped to its original room. Check embedded demos, media, and links in the inserted copy.

**Where do I see how much a section is being used?**
**Resource Hub → Saved sections** shows **Used in N Deal Rooms** per entry.
